Flights Resume at Scotland's Busiest Airport In the Wake of Substantial Control Tower IT Issue

Flight operations have recommenced at Scotland's primary international airport after a substantial ATC system failure brought the international hub to a standstill.

Every arrival and departure were suspended after an technical fault that occurred at about 08:30.

A number of travelers found themselves stranded in jets at the stand during the disruption.

Flights Resume with Residual Impact

Officials announced at 10:40 that services were back online, and thanked passengers for their "cooperation and patience".

That said, significant disruption are anticipated to persist for some time. Services bound for key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been called off, with a host of additional flights subject to postponements.

An airport representative had previously estimated that a significant number of movements could be affected.

"Flyers are asked to check directly with their airline for the current status on their specific flights," the statement added.
