"GHF's model, in which militant groups were prevented from misappropriating relief supplies, played a huge role in convincing militant groups to participate and establishing a truce."

Comments and Positions

Hamas - which denies stealing aid - approved the termination of the GHF, based on information.

An official from stated GHF should be held accountable for the negative impact it created to Gazans.

"We request all international human rights organisations to ensure that it does not escape accountability after resulting in fatalities and harm of thousands of Gazans and obscuring the food deprivation strategy implemented by the Israeli government."

The organization commenced activities in Gaza on May 26th, a week after Israel had partially eased a total blockade on humanitarian and trade shipments to Gaza that continued for 77 days and resulted in critical deficits of vital resources.

After 90 days, a famine was declared in the Palestinian urban center.

The foundation's nourishment distribution centers in various parts of the Palestinian territory were administered by United States-based protection companies and positioned in areas controlled by Israeli forces.

United Nations agencies and their collaborators claimed the approach violated the fundamental humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence, and that directing needy individuals into militarised zones was fundamentally dangerous.

United Nations human rights division stated it documented the killing of at least 859 Palestinians seeking food in the proximity to foundation locations between 26 May and 31 July.

Ongoing Situation

The foundation's prospects had been uncertain since Hamas and Israel agreed a halt in hostilities arrangement to implement the first phase of the United States' reconciliation proposal.

The agreement stated aid distribution would take place "free from intervention from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the international relief society, in combination with other worldwide bodies not associated in any manner" with Hamas and Israel.
