A woman indicted with stalking Kate McCann reportedly deposited her a voicemail message which asked: "imagine I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, twenty-four, who a jury heard has repeatedly asserted she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February 2025.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned communication data and information obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported missing child cases and remains unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm fat and plain like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Suppose there is a small chance that I'm her? Then what? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The jury was told that via electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with the police force who gathered the information, told the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On October 9th, 2024, the father answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will persist and I will prove my position."

The court heard Mrs Spragg established a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in December 2024.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the news outlets had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the period preceding the appearance to Rothley, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court heard correspondence between the two individuals, in last November, discussing endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We have to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their residence, the defendant transmitted a message which expressed: "We find ourselves positioned near the McCanns' house with our headlights off similar to investigators. I desired to achieve this with someone else I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
